Culver City Has State's Fourth Most Expensive Auto Insurance Rates

Culver City is the fourth most expensive city in California to insure a car.

That's the finding of an auto insurance study from ValuePenguin.com, which looked at auto insurance costs across 210 cities, 30 driver profiles and 52 companies to arrive at the average costs and city rankings.

The average rate per year for single drivers in Culver City is $1,556 and for married drivers is $1,492 - about 38 percent higher than the rest of the state.

The three other cities that ranked higher were Glendale, Los Angeles, and Inglewood, whose rates were higher than the state average by 62 percent, 44 percent and 41 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, the cheapest cities in the study's sample were Calexico, Lewiston and Yreka.
