Southbound 405 To Close For Freeway Widening Project

According to Metro, lanes will start closing at 10 p.m. from Dec. 6-8 and Dec. 13.

The southbound 405 Freeway will be closed overnight from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive from Dec. 6-8 due to a freeway widening project, according to Metro. The freeway will be widened near the Mulholland Bridge to support construction, stated a press release.

The same portion of the freeway is also expected to be closed on Dec. 13.

The southbound lanes will begin to close at 10 p.m. each night, but ramps may close as early as 7 p.m., according to Metro. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. each morning through Dec. 8. The same closure times will apply for the Dec. 13 overnight closure.

Metro officials also stated in a release that the southbound Skirball Center Drive off-ramp will be closed at 7 p.m.on Dec. 9 and will remain closed until 6 a.m. Dec. 12.

Metro officials say Sepulveda Boulevard will not be closed near the construction area during the full freeway closures and that emergency personnel will have access at all times.
