New Sandwich Shop Scheduled to Open Tomorrow

A new eaterie is opening in Culver City tomorrow, and it promises to offer something different. Its owner says Capriotti’s definitely stands out from other sandwich shops.

“People should know our sandwiches are not like any other sandwich shops and they will be able to taste the difference from the first bite,” according to franchise owner Buz Knyal.

Capriotti’s sells signature sandwiches, including “Capastami,” a hot pastrami sandwich that also features cole slaw, Russian dressing and Swiss chess as well as “SlawBeJo,” which consists of homemade roast beef, cole slaw, provolone and Russian dressing.

However, Capriotti’s might be best known for its “Bobbie” sandwich, a combination of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayonnaise, that has been dubbed the “Greatest Sandwich in America,” Knyal said.

They will also be serving up Italian subs and vegetarian options.

Choosing Culver City was a natural choice for the location given the rise in popularity in the area, he said.

“Culver City is such a great section of L.A., with a very diverse group of residents,” Knyal said. “Recently there has been such a great boom of great restaurants in the area, that we think the foodies and hungry people alike will enjoy Capriotti’s.”

Ethan Hunt, who manages the neighboring American Nail salon, said he is looking forward to the opening of Capriotti’s.

“We definitely need it,” Hunt said. “It’s good to have one around here instead of going to Subway.”

The fact Capriotti’s uses homemade sandwiches and “quality ingredients” will make the shop a draw, according to Knyal.

He owns other Capriotti’s locations including in other parts of the city and Las Vegas. This location marks the fourth one in Los Angeles.

Capriotti's, located at 5495 South Sepulveda Blvd., is scheduled to open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sundays.
