When he's not busy reporting about Hollywood stars on the popular entertainment news show Extra, Mario Lopez takes time out to give back to the community as an alumni ambassador for the Boys & Girls Club of America.

On Friday, Lopez hosted a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Venice at Millions of Milkshakes at the Westfield Culver City mall and created his own healthy concoction of fruits, frozen yogurt and protein powder.

A portion of Lopez's milkshake sales, along with a donation of $2,500 from Westfield Culver City, was awarded to the Boys & Girls Club of Venice. Patch got a chance to talk with Lopez about why this organization is particularly important to him, so watch the accompanying video to see what he had to say.
