SCOTT MALSIN MAKES IT OFFICIAL
Meanwhile, Scott Malsin officially announced his intent to run again for the council this week.
A release from Malsin’s campaign office notes he already has endorsements from over 200 community members along with high-profile endorsements from current Councilman Jeffrey Cooper, State Senator Curren Price, and LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.
Despite resigning his position from the council in December 2012 in order to retain his medical benefits, Malsin is confident he can be reelected.
"Our community is facing enormous challenges, all the more so in the wake of the demise of our Redevelopment Agency,” Malsin stated in an official press release.
“What will this mean for our schools, for building projects such as Parcel B in downtown Culver City, and for our city's much-envied cultural affairs programming? With continued state and national budget uncertainty, we need to focus on our city's financial health with laser-like intensity.
"When I say to you I can help us overcome these issues, you know you can count on it. I've been doing the type of work necessary to overcome challenges such as these for the past six years. I understand the tools the city has, I understand how to use them, and because of my experience I will 'hit the ground running.'”
Malsin will hold an official fundraiser on Sat. Feb. 18.

So Mr Malsin thinks he can take the money and run for office again. His campaign must be predicated on the hope that the voters will have a short memory about his actions.
Note in the last paragraph of this press release he writes, "When I say to you I can help us overcome these issues, you know you can count on it." He doesn't say "you can count on me." That's because we cannot. He already has shown his "true colors" once: Green. As in the color of money. The community doesn' need his kind of service. On election day, voters need to hold him accountable for his selfish, greedy Bell-like actions.

I think George may be misinformed here. Scott's been a reliable, constructive and positive presence on the city council his entire tenure. The bait and switch he was dealt didn't have any easy answers. He jumped the way he had to jump. This is entirely outside his service to the city, which has been dedicated and exemplary. Frankly, I'm glad he's coming back to serve, says good things about who he is.
