Eat, Give and Be Merry This Christmas Weekend

Celebrate the very first Christmas, donate pots and pans to charity and other holiday ideas.

1) Celebrate Christmas Eve with the story of the First Christmas. Playa Christian Church is hosting the evening meant to remind participators of the true spirit of Christmas. It's free and open to everyone. , 12221 Juniette St.

2) They're closed for Christmas, but Christmas Eve is the best time to get a discount with  while doing a good deed. Get a 10 percent discount on a single item when you donate a gently used pot, pan or small kitchen appliance. The items go to the St. Joseph Center in Venice, a place that assists low-income and homeless families and individuals in the West Los Angeles area. Surfas, 8777 W Washington Blvd.

3) Celebrate Christmas Eve at Akasha with the Christmas Eve Prix Fixe menu on Friday. Starting at 5 p.m. and featuring half priced bottles of wine, cheers to celebrating the holiday season. 4) Celebrate the Christmas weekend on Sunday with a worship service. The  welcomes everyone to their weekly service, starting at 10:30 a.m. Culver City Presbyterian Church, 11269 Washington Blvd.

5) When family comes to visit, sometimes it's hard to find a service for everyone. The Culver City Presbyterian Church is having their Portuguese language service at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Everyone is welcome. Culver City Presbyterian Church, 11269 Washington Blvd.
