Culver City Police Arrest 'Beach Cruiser Bandit'

Danny Gaudio, 55, was arrested Thursday night in Culver City. He's suspected of committing bank robberies in Manhattan Beach, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica.

Danny Gaudio, 55, of Harrisburg, PA was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of robbing a Manhattan Beach U.S. bank on March 29 and the Pacific Western Bank in Pacific Palisades on April 17.

He's also a suspect in a possible bank robbery in Santa Monica on March 20.

Dubbed the 'Beach Cruiser Bandit,' because of his means of escape in both robberies - on a bicycle - the suspect also used a handgun in all three robberies.

Lt. Vickrey of the Culver City Police Department told Patch CCPD followed up a lead Thursday night after a man matching Gaudio's description was seen at the Pitfire Pizza restaurant in Culver City on the Mar Vista border.

"Somebody identified him at the restaurant and called us. We responded and arrested him inside the restaurant," Vickrey said.

FBI agents and Manhattan Beach officers also made their way to the restaurant. Gaudio was arrested at 9:24 p.m.

The case is being handled by Manhattan Beach detectives.
