Culver City Democratic Club Endorses Sahli-Wells and Clarke
Meghan Sahli-Wells and Jim Clarke received the top votes following a City Council candidate’s forum on Wednesday night.
Sahli-Wells, Clarke Receive Democratic Club Endorsements
Five of the six candidates running for a seat in the April 10 City Council elections are registered Democrats. Mayor Micheal O’Leary has not listed his party preference and therefore was not invited to participate in a candidate’s forum held Wednesday night at the Culver City Democratic Club.
Following the forum, members voted to endorse Meghan Sahli-Wells and Jim Clarke.
Culver City Crossroads reports that 48 ballots are required to endorse a candidate and only Sahli-Wells and Clarke met the threshold, with Sahli-Wells receiving 65 votes and Clarke receiving 56.
Sahli-Wells ‘1984’ Fundraiser
Following her Feb. 1 fundraiser at La Dijonaise restaurant, Meghan Sahli-Wells is holding a follow up event featuring dinner and a night at the theatre to watch The Actor’s Gang production of George Orwell’s 1984.
Tickets for the 1984 fundraiser, directed by The Actor’s Gang’s Artistic Director Tim Robbins are available on Sahli-Wells’ website. One ticket option includes dinner before the show at a downtown Culver City restaurant, which has yet to be announced.
“This spectacular production of 1984 is a powerful reminder of the paramount value of freedom – he hallmark and lifeblood of our democracy and highlights the many benefits we enjoy by supporting the arts in our community,” Sahli-Wells stated in a press release.

Well deserved endorsements from the democratic club. Both will make excellent councilmembers.
